Innovation with Impact
in Education.

The Leiamos Platform is an initiative recognized by Portugal's DGE helping drive school success from the earliest years.

The problemThousands of children in Portugal still struggle to learn to read, which affects their entire school and personal journey.
The solutionA digital platform that assesses early, intervenes in an adapted way and tracks each child’s progress — all backed by science.
The impactAlready tested with thousands of children, the Leiamos methodology shows concrete results in improving reading skills and reducing school failure.

The platform

Serious games, backed by science

For the child, it's a game. For you, it's an assessment tool: every answer feeds the report and suggests the next activity.

The games

Six games, one skill each.

Six short games, one skill each. Every answer feeds the child’s report — and Leiarico hits play for you.

Pesca

Every level has a fisherman — a frog, a seal — and the sound their name begins with. Fish swim past carrying pictures, and the child casts the hook at the ones starting with that same sound. Four right catches win the level.

Get in touch

What is Leiamos and how can it help with learning to read?

Leiamos is a methodology that supports learning to read. It supports reading development through an algorithm that, based on an assessment of the child's current skills, suggests an individual intervention plan made up of playful, game-like activities.

Does the platform follow evidence-based methodologies?

Yes — the entire assessment and intervention process, including the algorithm that suggests the individual intervention plan, is based on current scientific knowledge and studies that evaluated the positive impact of these proposals.

Which pre-reading and reading skills does Leiamos work on?

At the pre-reading level, Leiamos focuses on building phoneme awareness and letter-sound relationships.

At the reading level, Leiamos focuses on the decoding process — the “mechanics” of reading.

How can I use Leiamos in my classroom?

Leiamos proposes intervention activity plans meant to be carried out in a human context, between the teacher and their students. The classroom setting is ideal for these activities.

Can the platform track each student's individual progress?

Yes — the results of each assessment automatically generate a chart showing, for each skill, whether the child is on track or falling behind expectations. Each new assessment generates charts that include previous results, making it possible to understand the progress curve.

Does Leiamos provide progress reports or metrics?

Yes — immediately after each assessment, a report is generated showing the progress trend line.

Is there a specific plan for schools or school groups?

Yes — Leiamos is designed to meet the needs of a school group, generating reports tailored to each management level — from the teacher, with access to each student's results per skill, to the principal, with access to results by school and grade level.

How can I get training to use Leiamos with my students?

The Leiamos offering includes accredited training and consulting, complementing all of the platform's features.

What devices is Leiamos available on?

Leiamos is available on computer, tablet, and mobile phone.

Does using the platform require a permanent internet connection?

No. The internet connection can be occasional: data is saved on the device's memory and uploaded to the server as soon as a signal becomes available.

Where can I get technical support if I run into difficulties?

Technical support is available by email at info@leiamos.pt.

How can I suggest improvements or give feedback about the platform?

Through the Leiamos Forum, available on the platform, where all users can contribute and access community content.

What sets Leiamos apart from other solutions for children learning to read?

Leiamos is grounded in scientific studies that support the positive impact of its intervention proposals at the Preschool and 1st Cycle levels.

At the preschool level, it focuses on building phoneme awareness — an essential skill for later learning of letter-sound relationships.

All Leiamos intervention proposals assume human contact between the teacher and the children.

Is Leiamos a set of virtual games for children to complete on their own, without the teacher present?

No. Leiamos believes that human contact between the teacher and the children is essential to learning. All intervention proposals are designed to be carried out in a physical setting.

Does the Leiamos methodology “work” for “good students” too?

Yes. All students, whatever their level of difficulty, feel motivated and benefit from the gradual, systematic approach Leiamos proposes.
